Big Train is my favorite; their shipping isn’t, October 30, 2013

This review is from: Big Train Chai Tea, Spiced, 3.5 lb bulk (Grocery)
Big Train has been my favorite chai for a very long time, and when Amazon discontinued selling their 1.9# double-pack cans for about $20, this was the best substitute. I was surprised to see it arrive in a USPS cardboard envelope. I was sure there would be powder everywhere inside, or that I’d accidentally slice open the bag while opening the envelope (they had taped over the “easy pull tab”). But the 3.5# bag emerged just fine. Although I miss Amazon’s lower price, and the convenience of storing canisters rather than bags, this is the best solution right now. (I kept a canister, and the scoop, and I’m very glad I did!)

    Suggestions to all:
    1. If you are just trying to find chai you like, try a smaller size! But, just for reference, I have had real Indian chai. This is definitely different. It’s very sweet, cinnamon, clove, honey type flavors. It is NOT like Starbucks or Oregon Chai or Tazo chai or any of those horrible mixes you can find in the grocery store. My favorite coffee shops all use Big Train, which is how I stumbled upon it in the first place.

    2. It tastes best, in my opinion, made as a latte with milk. I have a Capresso milk frother that works great. No $600 espresso machines for me! Milk choice: skim milk froths the most, but of course whole tastes the richest.

    3. Be careful when opening your package!

    **Edit January 31.2014
Seriously, be careful opening your package! But more importantly, just hope nothing pokes it during shipping. All four corners of the bag are exposed during shipping, because the “box” is literally just wrapped around your bag of chai. My most recent orders were shipped using a general cardboard “envelope” rather than the USPS one. The corners aren’t taped. No packing material or lining. This time I took pictures of the film of powder covering my bag of chai. I can’t find a puncture, but all that loose powder makes me suspicious. I’m sure this is just the cheapest way they could ship it, but still. A little tape on the corners would make this customer feel a lot better.

    CHAI ADDICT!, October 24, 2013

I drink Chai every day, I was spending $10 a day for my little problem, but I saw the girls at the coffee hut pouring this powder from Big Train into a huge tupaware container, and I thought to myself…”what are you doing!? You can buy that online!?”

I make an iced chai every morning, mix a couple scoops with a little hot water, and pour in some milk, drop a couple ice cubes, and I’ve got myself the exact same drink for 1/20th of the cost.

    Gotta love it 🙂

BEST CHAI EVER – VANILLA IS MY FAVORITE, September 9, 2006

I AM TOTALLY ADDICTED TO CHAI TEA AND BIG TRAIN VANILLA IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE. ALL THOUGH MY HUSBAND PREFERS THE SPICED (IT HAS A SLIGHT HINT OF CLOVE AND MORE CINNAMON) ONCE YOU TRY THIS BRAND NO OTHER CHAI WILL COMPARE. BEFORE ORDERING AT COFFEE SHOPS, I ALWAYS CHECK THE BRAND THEY USE-IF ITS ANOTHER BRAND I USUALLY GO WITH SOMETHING OTHER THAN CHAI BECAUSE TO ME THERE IS NO COMPARISON.

My son wears out shoes so quick so I was in search of something more rugged. This is the first pair of Merrill shoes he has owned and they are exceptional quality..very rugged and strong just what he needed.

The shoes offer the comfortable “sneaker” feel while having all of the assets of a waterproof hiking shoe. The colors are bright and fun and also I really like the thick tread on the bottom gets great traction on the snow and ice. I also want to point out that the back of these is really strong so even the kids who tend to crush the backs of these shoes with not break these. Super easy to get on as well.

Bought these shoes for my son for our Arizona/Grand Canyon trip. He liked them a lot. Plenty of support and traction which allowed him to trek through caves, up rocks, and easily traverse the trails. We bought Merrells for everyone in the family, Grassbow Air for the wife and All Out Blaze for me, and were pleased with each pair. Highly recommend the Merrells.

WONDERFUL shoes for active boys, January 20, 2016

Wonderful shoes. We have gone through roughly two pairs of “GOOD” shoes about every two-three months. The shoes have lasted, held up, and are comfortable for hours for a very active and rugged little guy. It was difficult to pay the initial cost for these, however they have saved us hundreds in the long run. If your child is rough on shoes, meaning they wear them out before they outgrow them, I would highly, highly, recommend Merrell’s.
