Ancestry Talks

Ancestry Talks – a Africa interest event taking place on 2019-10-26 14:30:00 in United Kingdom

Have you ever thought about tracing your roots, but don’t know where to start?  Maybe you’ve started to research your ancestry but got stuck.  Want to ask a few questions about researching or even about DNA tests? If you've answered yes to any of these questions, this event is for you.  Paul Crooks pioneered research into African Caribbean genealogy during the 1990s.  He’s credited with an upsurge in Black & British ancestry. He will take you through his journey and provide top tips on how to go about research and much more. Open Q&A at the end of his presentation. This will be the first time Paul is coming to Leicester to talk about his journey in researching his own roots back to Africa.  You do not want to miss it.  Spaces are limited so please book early and booking is necessary.  Bio Paul Crooks is credited with inspiring an upsurge in interest in Black and British ancestry. Paul pioneered research into African Caribbean genealogy during the 1990s.  He traced his family history from London, back 6 generations, to ancestors captured of the West African coast and enslaved on a sugar plantation in Jamaica. He gained national recognition for his work when he appeared on Who Do You Think You Are? (Moira Stuart). Paul will talk about his journey and how he traced his roots. This will be followed by a questions and answer session. Paul is the author of "Ancestors" and "A Tree Without Root".  His books will be available for purchase.  This event is brought to you by
