Afroteq Advisory promotes Xolisa Fumba to Director

Afroteq Advisory, a subsidiary of the AFMS Group, is proud to announce that Xolisa Fumba has been promoted to Director of the company’s Strategic Facilities Projects (SFP) unit within Afroteq Operations.

Xolisa is a Professional Civil Engineering Technologist with 15 years’ experience in managing facilities, projects, contracts and operations within the built environment. He has more than 8 years’ experience at a senior management level within the public and private sector and is an accredited Facilities Professional with SAFMA and has membership affiliation with SAICE and IMESA.

Xolisa started his career with the AFMS Group in 2014 when he was appointed by Facilities Management Solutions as the Eastern Cape Regional Manager of Operations. His responsibilities included managing a large health sector facilities management contract, before he was promoted to Head of Strategic Facilities Projects for Afroteq Advisory in February 2015.

Commenting on his new role as Director, Xolisa says that this appointment will increase his areas of responsibility within Afroteq’s Strategic Facilities Projects (SFP) business unit.

“SFP provides advisory services and manages independent facilities projects. Our focus is on assisting our clients’ executive and senior management in making informed and strategic decisions about their facilities environment and providing support to their facilities management operations. In short, we focus on the built infrastructure services while allowing our clients to focus on their core business,” Xolisa explains.

A family man who loves spending quality time with his wife and three beautiful children, Xolisa also loves watching sport and playing TV games with his son.  “My family is my pillar of strength and the foundation of my success,” he says.

His secret to success is not being afraid of change or taking on new challenges. “I believe that there is value in being forced out of your comfort zone and being allowed to experience different work environments.  If you create an atmosphere where both the service provider and client feel challenged, but supported, success will inevitably follow,” Xolisa concluded.
