AFRICA: Sub-Saharan Diversity – a South Africa interest event taking place on 2016-01-26 00:00:00 in United States

This is the opening day of the exhibition: AFRICA: Sub-Saharan Diversity, which runs until August 12, 2016. Drawn exclusively from the Museum's Collections, this dynamic exhibition exemplifies the rich diversity of cultures across West and Central Africa. Themes of protection, prestige, and masquerade are illustrated through selected masks, weapons, sculptures, and jewelry from 25 ethnic cultures.

 

Additional exhibition funding has been provided by New York Community Bank Foundation.

 

AFRICA: Sub-Saharan Diversity runs from January 26 – August 12, 2016.

Location: Emily Lowe Gallery, Behind Emily Lowe Hall, South Campus

Hofstra University Museum Emily Lowe Gallery Hours:

Tuesday – Friday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday, noon – 4 p.m. 

Summer Hours (May 17 – August 12, 2016):
Tuesday – Friday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Galleries are closed on major holidays, during Hofstra University recesses, and during exhibition installations.
