A cool Miss South Africa image:
A taste of night cricket

Another shot from Australia vs. Sri Lanka at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara (facing, in blue) and Tillekeratne Dilshan are batting in the middle stages of their 130-run partnership. Dilshan hit six fours off one of Australia’s Mitchell Johnson’s overs, scoring 62, while Sangakkara scored 104 off 107 balls – his fourth consecutive century in this World Cup. But the Australian bowlers took the honours. Johnson finished with 2-62, James Faulkner 3-48 and Mitchell Starc 2-29.
In the background is the Victor Trumper stand, named after the great Australian batsman. His test career spanned 48 matches from 1899 to 1912, resulting in 3,163 runs at an average of 39. The 12,000 seat stand, completed in 2008, replaced the earlier Doug Walters stand and the hill. I miss the beer snakes (if not the tinny fights).
Tomorrow, South Africa play Sri Lanka here in the first quarter final of the 2015 Cricket World Cup.
