Coaches Training Expo Date: September 9, 2017 Greater Houston Area 4 Coaches Expo registration deadline is September 8, 2017. Deadline dates allow us to process information and packets for all attendees. Special Olympics Texas – Area 4 will host a Coaches Training Expo on Saturday, September 9, 2017. There is no cost to become certified other than your time, there is a cost to become a certified Volunteer A, please click the link below to complete your Criminal Background Check (CBC) All coaches must be Class A volunteers which requires a completed volunteer A form, a Criminal Background Check (CBC) there is a cost associated with this check and completion of the General Orientation/Protective Behavior Quiz. Unified Sports will be held from 9:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the MMSC – were you aware that you can now take the Unified Sports Training free of charge on your home computer? In your pg.’s if you wish…..you can by simply click on this link to check out this new opportunity to each of you Online Unified Sports Training If you take this online Unified Sports Training you will become certified to coach Unified Sports once you submit your 10 Coaching Practicum, you will receive a certificate of completion emailed to you after your complete the training you will need to share this certificate with the Area Office, we in turn will send you the 10 hour Coaching Practicum to complete and return to the Area Office complete your Certification. Concussion Training Start: 8:30 a.m. Sports Specific training: 9:00 a.m. come ready to participate in the sports training, dressed and ready to go.
