Views from outsiders: cooking, culture and European crime fiction – a Culture interest event taking place on 2019-07-09 18:30:00 in Australia
In some crime fiction, the setting and the cultural details are as least as important as the crime itself. Join Chris Browne, an avid fan and collector of this genre of popular crime fiction, compares four European cultures in an exploration of the worlds of Bruno, Brunetti, Gunter and Zen. A former medical academic at Monash University, Professor Chris Browne has been a serious book collector for nearly 50 years. His personal library contains more than 12,000 books with an emphasis on 19th and 20th century English literature and children’s books. Chris is in demand for talks on a range of topics related to books, book collecting, literature, printing and book illustration. He is the Program Director of Melbourne Rare Book Week.
