Pasadena Conservatory of Music presents Piano Works: Sarkis Baltaian, piano and In-Sook Baltaian, piano. Dr. Sarkis Baltaian has gained an international reputation as a concert pianist, chamber musician, recording artist and pedagogue. He has been praised by critics for his “beautiful tone and ability to project even the most delicate pianissimos” and compared to George Gershwin and Oscar Levant for his performance of Gershwin’s Concerto in F. Dr. Baltaian made his Carnegie Hall Debut in 1999 and has performed extensively both as recitalist and concerto soloist with major orchestras throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia. Since her debut with the Seoul National Symphony at the age of thirteen, In-Sook Baltaian has concertized around the world and praised by critics as a remarkable pianist with brilliant technique and great sensitivity who creates excitement with her audience. Her concert appearances have taken her to such venues as the Salle Cortot, Ecole Normale of Music in Paris, France, the Mozarteum in Saltsburg, Hoam Art Hall and Sejong Hall in Seoul, South Korea and appearances at the Royal College of Music in London, United Kingdom among others. Mrs. Baltaian’s recent recital appearances include a recital in Sydney, Australia and a recital by the invitation of the President of Atelier of Contemporary Music, Chateau of St.Germain-en-laye, France. Program includes: Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition; Rachmaninoff: Piano Suite No. 2, op. 17 for two pianos; Shostakovich: Concertino for two pianos in A minor.
